Darrel Bowman

Darrel Bowman

CEO – mynetworkcompany.com

Darrel served four years in the US Coast Guard.  After serving his country, receiving an honorable discharge and a disability, Darrel pursued a college degree using his GI Bill graduating from Pacific Lutheran University with a degree in Business Administration.
Upon graduation from PLU, Darrel began employment with Electronic Data Systems as a Systems Engineer designing and supporting their new network and data center for over 5000 users in the Engineering and Development Center for new vehicle designs at General Motors in Flint Michigan.
Longing to return to the PNW, Darrel brought his family back to Tacoma accepting an offer to work with Pierce County Planning and Land Services as their Information Systems Coordinator. There he grew the PALS network from a 5 person Novell LAN into one supporting over 130 people across 11 departments without an official budget.
Darrel’s ability to be creative and cost conscious as well as achieve consensus was recognized by management at the newly formed City of University Place and Darrel soon accepted an offer to be the City’s first Information Systems Manager.
After building the technology hardware and software infrastructure network for over 100 employees in all departments and divisions, Darrel chose to leave the City and embark on new challenges in State Government.
Working with Shared Client Services, a consulting division of WA State, as the Director of Network and Technical Services, Darrel supported multiple agencies in various projects including the K-20 backbone development.
In late 1999 the opportunity to become an equal partner in AppTech, Inc. presented itself.  This coupled with an abundance of new technical challenges combined with a fresh approach for each new client seemed a perfect fit for Darrel and his talents for designing creative and affordable business technology solutions.
In 2005 Darrel purchased the remaining shares of AppTech and as the sole owner later renamed and rebranded the company mynetworkcompany.com.  mynetworkcompany.com currently supports over 50 organizations based in the PNW with all of their Information Technology Support needs.
The civic roles at mynetworkcompany.com are proactive and broad ranging but always with an emphasis on creating opportunities for all Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses, Education for Veterans, Education/Food initiatives for children and bettering technology degree and certification programs throughout the state.
